Strengthening women's role in public policy
In 2005 many women legislators attended a luncheon and policy briefing series, Wednesdays@Walker. Because of enthusiastic support, CSW retooled the event into “Women’s Wednesday” held this year on March 8, 2006 at The Tuck Library. Invitation was extended to all legislators.
CSW was honored to again offer a special opportunity to gather lawmakers in an atmosphere to explore the issues, interests, challenges and opportunities facing our state’s women. Women’s Wednesday was organized with the gracious support of Senator Sylvia Larsen, Senator Shelia Roberge, Representative Terie Norelli, and Representative Shelia Francoeur, and in collaboration with the New Hampshire Women’s Policy Institute (NH WPI).
On March 8, the topic considered was “Family Organization and Its Effect on the Economic Status of Women in New Hampshire.” CSW and NH WPI invited Economist Ross Gittell from the University of New Hampshire to present his findings from a study recently published by NH WPI, entitled The Economic Status of Working Women in New Hampshire.
