Holidays for Calendar Year 2008

Holidays for Calendar Year 2009

The State of New Hampshire and the State Employees' Association of New Hampshire, Inc. - SEIU Local 1984, within the framework of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, have agreed that the following days will be holidays for State Employees during calendar year 2008.

New Year's Day Tuesday January 1, 2008
Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Day Monday January 21, 2008
President's Day Monday February 18, 2008
Memorial Day Monday May 26, 2008
Fourth of July Friday July 4, 2008
Labor Day Monday September 1, 2008
Veteran's Day Tuesday November 11, 2008
Thanksgiving Day Thursday November 27, 2008
Day after Thanksgiving Friday November 28, 2008
Christmas Day Thursday December 25, 2008

For information only:

Although the following days are listed in RSA 288:1 as State holidays, they are NOT paid holidays for State employees under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the State and the SEA. State Offices will remain open.
  • Columbus Day (2nd Monday in October - October 13, 2008)
  • Election Day (the day on which the biennial election is held - Tuesday, November 4, 2008)

In addition to the above noted holidays, State employees who are employed on a full-time basis are eligible for Floating Holidays. Please see Article 9.2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the specific details.

Christmas Day Friday December 25, 2009
* Whereas Fourth of July, the calendar holiday, falls on a Saturday, State Offices will be closed Friday, July 3, 2009.
