Geographic Information System (GIS)

The GIS program at the Office of Energy and Planning has two main functions. First, the program provides mapping support and geographic analysis to other programs in the office. Second, the program develops particular geographic data layers for the statewide GRANIT project and provides guidance to GRANIT through its position as coordinator of the statewide GIS Advisory Committee.

For a large selection of GIS data for New Hampshire, please visit the GRANIT web site. Substantial amounts of data are now available for direct download.

The following GRANIT-affiliated web sites provide interactive mapping (within your web browser) of New Hampshire data:

  • The GRANIT Conservation Lands Viewer and the Cell Tower Mapper have been replaced by the GRANIT Data Mapper, a web site that displays a number of different data themes. To display cell towers, click on the "visible" box next to "Utilities & Telecommunications" in the Layer Menu on the right side of the page, then click the yellow "Apply" button at the bottom right. For conservation lands, choose "Land Conservation" from the "Select a Theme" dropdown box in the upper right part of the page, then use the zoom in tool to allow the Conservation Lands layer to appear.

The following maps have been prepared at the Office of Energy and Planning using GRANIT data. Feel free to download them for viewing or printing. All maps are in PDF format.
