State of New Hampshire Provides Storm Debris
Removal Assistance
CONCORD - New Hampshire Emergency Management officials today urged citizens impacted by the recent tornado to use caution when removing downed trees and other debris from their homes and property, and to seek assistance that is being provided by the state, local communities and various volunteer organizations.
For more information regarding the removal of downed trees, contact the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension Forestry Information Center at 1-800-444-8978.
In addition, storm damage informational meetings conducted by the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension and N.H. Division of Forests and Lands have been scheduled in four affected towns. They will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Center Barnstead Town Hall; Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the Epsom Fire Station; Thursday, Aug. 7 at the Ossipee Town Hall; and Tuesday, Aug.12 at the George B. White Building in Deerfield. All of the informational sessions will begin at 6 p.m.
The sessions will provide information and assistance on a number of topics, including wood salvage and removal.
