Lisa
Wolff, conductor, Manchester
Lisa
Wolff, conductor from Manchester, has been the Music Director
of the Manchester Choral Society since 1982. She is also Music
Director and Organist at Grace Church in Manchester, and Director
of Amare Cantare, a chamber chorus in Durham. Lisa performs
as a lyric soprano with orchestras around New England. Her
State Arts Council Fellow-ship came at an opportune moment
in her life. It was to be the year of a well-earned sabbatical
from teaching and conducting. In her application Lisa wrote,
A State Arts Council Fellowship would enhance my career
by giving me the resources to allow me to recharge
my creativebatteries.
She will
begin the formal study of pipe organ. Her report to the New
Hampshire community will be a first organ recital--an event
to raise funds for music scholarships for high school students.
The recital will be a perfect vehicle to give back to
the community which has done so much to support us through
the years.
