Dan Hurlin, performance artist, Jaffrey
Dan
Hurlin splits his time between New York City and New Hampshire.
He has written and performed over a dozen original works including
his OBIE Award-winning pieces A Cool Million, Hiroshima Maiden,
and NO (thing so powerful as) TRUTH, a solo inspired by the
life of former Manchester Union Leader publisher William Loeb.
For 15 years he was artistic director of Andy's Summer Playhouse
in Wilton, and has taught in colleges and universities including
Princeton, Bowdoin, and Bennington. Hurlin received an Artist
Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1993,
a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2002, and in 2004 received an Alpert
Award in the Arts for theatre.
