NH State Council on the Arts was honored to host Creative Guts recording a live podcast at our Fall 2023 Arts Partnership Conference, Woven: Gathering at the Intersections, at Sanborn Mills Farm in Loudon, NH. In the recently released podcast, co-hosts Laura Harper Lake and Sarah Wrightsman chat with Kimball Jenkins director of programming Yasamin (Yaz) Safarzadeh and Waypoint NH program manager Sarah Jones about the Waypoint Mural Project. In the interview, Yaz and Sarah talk about the creation of a mural at Waypoint’s Drop -in Center in Manchester, working with unhoused youth and young adults who are clients at Waypoint's Homeless Youth Services. Listen in to learn about the program’s process and challenges, the skills youth participants develop while participating in the mural project, how program organizers build trust and create a safe space for homeless youth, and much more. NHCSA is happy to support the Waypoint Mural Project with a FY24 Youth Arts Project Grant. We are very excited to spotlight this Kimball Jenkins and Waypoint partnership as a high-impact model for accessible arts education. Many thanks to Yaz, Sarah, Laura, and Sarah for their incredible work and for capturing and sharing this project with us and with the public.
