8th ANNUAL BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION PICNIC
The NHSP Benevolent Association hosted the 7th Annual Summer Picnic on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Ellacoya State Park in Gilford. The event featured the popular lobsters and steamers along with hot dogs and hamburgers and a dish to share by everyone who attended. Retired Trooper Jeff Bonan came through once again with the organization of the outing. He cooked the lobsters and steamers while Jeffrey Kellett, President flipped countless hamburgers and hot dogs with the help of Cheryl Janelle, Vice-President and Courtney Bonan. Jeff Bonan also had a lot of help and assistance from his daughter, Courtney, and her boyfriend, Matt.
The weather was cool and rainy on and off and could have been better, but everyone made the best of it. We pretty much had the whole park to ourselves except for the ducks who kept invading our picnic area. The kids enjoyed some games such as the water balloon toss, sack races and a raffle. There was also a corn hole tournament for the adults. There was a Christmas Card Drawing Contest for the kids for the 2016 Benevolent Association Christmas Card. The winner of this contest is revealed when the Christmas Card is sent out in December.
A big thank you to Jeff Bonan for everything that he does to help make this a successful picnic! He books the Picnic Pavilion at Ellacoya every year, orders the lobsters, steamers and meat and so much more. We appreciate everything he does so much!
There was plenty of food and no one left hungry!
