- Why does it appear that some transactions on TransparentNH are duplicated? All fields on some lines of my exported results are the same including agency, accounting unit, account, date, transaction id, vendor, etc.
- These are not duplicate transactions. The expenditure is broken down further on an non-displayed field for agency defined tracking. This is a lower level of field information detail used by some agencies that does not display on TransparentNH.
- Why was this web site created?
- Fiscal transparency is key to a healthy democracy and public scrutiny helps ensure that government works for the people and spends their tax dollars wisely. TransparentNH was created to give citizens a portal to information about how New Hampshire spends tax dollars and other revenues to provide services to residents.
- How often is data on this site updated?
- Content on this Web site is constantly being updated. The frequency of updates to the data varies. In most cases we will note this frequency with the data.

- What is a "Fiscal Year"?
- A fiscal year is the 12-month period beginning July 1 and ending June 30, used by state government for accounting purposes. Fiscal year designation is based on the year in which it ends. For example, fiscal year 2010 (FY 2010) runs from July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010.
- What is the "General Fund"?
- The General Fund is the state's primary operating fund and accounts for all financial transactions not accounted for in any other fund. The revenues of the General Fund are commonly referred to as Unrestricted Revenues. It is common for other funds to contribute part or all of the net results of their activities to the General Fund.
- What is an "Appropriation"?
- An appropriation is authorization by the Legislature to spend money from the state treasury for purposes established in law. Appropriations typically limit expenditures to a specific amount and purpose within a fiscal year or biennial period.
